Supper Club Documentary 1st Newsletter!
Greetings!
Welcome to the first newsletter for the documentary "Old Fashioned: The Story of the Wisconsin Supper Club". In this newsletter you will find updates about the film, and information about our upcoming fundraiser. I hope you enjoy it!
A Note From The Director
I am writing this newsletter while staying at Silvercryst Supper Club and Motel. I can’t think of a better place to be writing the first newsletter for this film. The Silvercryst is one of the few Wisconsin supper clubs that is also a resort. Located on Silver Lake near Wautoma, WI, the Silvercryst is a great place to dine and also to enjoy the beauty of nature. The Silvercrst has been my escape from the city for a weekend, and I can’t wait to return in the summer months to enjoy their private beach and tiki bar.
This past year my crew and I traveled all around the great state of Wisconsin. We worked hard to find and film supper clubs that showcase what makes Wisconsin supper clubs so distinctive. The majority of our filming this past year happened between April 2010 and September 2010. We still have more people and places we need to film, but have since been taking a break to avoid unpredictable winter weather. We are taking this snowy time to cut a trailer for the film and start the editing process. We will resume shooting in the spring of 2011 and plan on having the film in the can by the fall of 2011. Making this film has been incredibly challenging and rewarding, and I look forward to sharing it with all of you.
